Nose

Intense notes of tropical fruits, bananas, sultanas and red berries, followed by butterscotch, cinnamon and sweet oak.

Palate

Powerful, but still fruity sweet and silky soft on the palate. Creamy fruit, tart orange and sherry notes, accompanied by cinnamon, some pepper and a touch of leather.

Finish

Long lasting finish with vanilla, slightly bitter orange, some sherry, dry oak and finally dark chocolate.

With water

The addition of a few drops of water brings more sherry aroma to the fore, followed by orange fruit, dark chocolate and some leathery notes. The tropical fruit sweetness is a bit tamed. Deliciously sweet on the palate with orange marmalade, cinnamon and chocolate. The finish shows notes of sticky fruit, tart dark chocolate and espresso.

Comments

A delicious, aromatic Speyside Blended Malt from Douglas Laing with a clear influence of the sherry casks. Sweet, fruity and creamy with a nice balance of tropical fruits, citrus and chocolate notes. Complex and wonderfully palatable. Optimally bottled at 48% abv, thus no water needed.
