Nose

Fresh on the nose with sweet vanilla and fruity aromas of banana, ripe pear and mango. Slightly floral with some oak wood and ginger spice in the background.

Palate

Sweet and intense on the palate with creamy vanilla notes and pear compote. Beautifully warming with a pleasant spice of oak and ginger, followed by crispy biscuits and a hint of tobacco leaf towards the finish.

Finish

The finish shows a medium length with creamy fruit jam, followed by slightly bitter oak notes and some peppery spiciness towards the end.

With water

Stays sweet after adding a few drops of water. Clear vanilla notes, but also significantly more pepper and oak spice. Also more floral notes while the fruitiness is a bit tamed. On the palate sweet and creamy with caramel and fruit. Prickling on the tongue, but also a bit more dry oak and ginger spice. The finish is still of medium length, but much drier with oak, ginger and tobacco notes.

Comments

A delicious mix of yellow fruit aromas, creamy vanilla and light tobacco flavours, which are kept in good balance by a warming, yet subtle oak and ginger spiciness. Despite the high alcohol content it is pleasantly drinkable neat. It will certainly go well with a piece of white chocolate with almonds.
