Nose

Smoked bacon and cough syrup combine with ripe fruits and orange marmalade. Sweet notes of sherry, mixed with oak spice and a whiff of cinnamon, wrapped in fresh sea air.

Palate

Rich, creamy and sweet on the palate with a warming mix of various spices, including cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and subtle oak. After the warmth fades, notes of sherry and orange marmalade linger with gentle peat smoke towards the finish.

Finish

The finish shows medium length with sweet barley sugar, some ripe fruit and maritime notes with sea air.

With water

On the nose, water brings more smoke to the fore while the fruitiness stays sweet with orange marmalade and ripe apricots, mixed with lingering spices. Still sweet, creamy and spicy on the palate with more peat smoke. The finish is medium long with salted caramel and maritime notes.

Comments

A superbly sweet, creamy and fruity single malt from the Isle of Islay with delicate orange marmalade, beautiful maritime notes and a touch of peat smoke. This whisky isn't dominated by the sherry as the butt delivered only subtle sherry notes but a delicious spiciness to the whisky, too.
